President // Staci Silverman
Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Staci is a 3rd year Sociology student at the
University of Alberta. Staci served as Co-President of Edmonton Hillel last year and
as the First-Year Representative before that. Staci was also a member of the 2010-
2011 CFJS Advisory Board and a Canadian delegate at the 2010 World Union of
Jewish Students Congress in Jerusalem. Passionate about working in the Jewish
community, Staci has been involved in a number of advocacy and community affairs
related boards working with fellow students as well as members of the general
community. She is motivated to help emerging and established campuses create a
warm and welcoming environment to engage students in a comfortable setting. Staci
enjoys late night visits to the Kotel (Western Wall) in Jerusalem as well as eating
delicious potato knishes at Shabbat dinner with her family.

Vice President External // Emile Scheffel
Originally from Kamloops, BC, Emile first joined the Israel advocacy community while studying at Carleton University in Ottawa, where he served a year as events chair and frequent spokesperson for the City-Wide Israel Awareness Committee. Emile has been engaged in advocacy efforts on a wide range of issues, including human rights and mental health. Heavily engaged in politics, Emile is a past fellow of the Canadian Jewish Political Affairs Committee (CJPAC) and a former Parliament Hill staffer. He has worked on numerous federal, provincial, and municipal election campaigns. Emile holds an honours degree in political science from Carleton, and is currently working towards a law degree at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.
Vice President Programming // Alexandra Lulka
Born and raised in Toronto, Alexandra is currently in her 4th year of undergrad
at Queen’s University in Kingston, majoring in Religious Studies with a minor in
Biology. Alexandra is Shabbat and Kashrut Chair for Queen’s Hillel, as well as an
executive member of Queen’s Israel On Campus. While in Toronto, Alexandra spends
much of her spare time volunteering at the Montessori Jewish Day School, and she
plans to go into Montessori education. Alexandra’s favourite city in Israel is Haifa,
after living there for two months while volunteering with Magen David Adom, and
her favourite Israeli food is anything from Aroma Espresso Bar.

Vice President Finance // Patrick Sinclair
Patrick is in his fourth year of a Joint Honours Philosophy and Political
Science program at the University of Ottawa. He served on the Israel Awareness
Committee at the University of Ottawa board last year and is currently sitting on
the Ottawa City-wide board in the community outreach chair. Patrick passion is
focused on promoting Israeli and Jewish student advocacy. His favourite Jewish food
is mushroom noodle Kugel.

Vice President Internal // Tomer Shavit
Tomer is a 4th year Computation Arts student at Concordia University. He lived in
Israel for most of his life and moved to Canada after completing his IDF service.
Tomer was VP Israel Affairs for Hillel Concordia before becoming the president of
Hillel Concordia. He also sits on the board of governors of Hillel Montreal and served
as a council member for the Concordia Student Union. His interests are empowering
student leaders that feel that they lack the means to deliver compelling Israel
advocacy. His favourite Jewish food is Sabich (deep fried eggplant in a pita with
hummus salad and tahina).
