Young Leadership Israel Advocacy Initiative (YLIA)

The Young Leadership Israel Advocacy Initiative (YLIA) is an exciting program, open to any Canadian Jewish young adult between the ages of 23-45. The program will enable the next generation of leadership of the organized Jewish community to be exposed to and interact with Canadian parliamentarians and senior government officials, while cementing their commitment to community through engaging with their local Federation. Features a two-day retreat in Ottawa and a week-long mission to to Israel together with a group of Canadian parliamentarians.

CJPAC Fellowship

CJPAC (Canadian Jewish Political Affairs Committee) offers a year-long Fellowship program, an opportunity that will allow politically interested and active students to engage further in Canadian politics at an intense level. They will have unique opportunities to meet with Members of Parliament and senior political strategists throughout the year. The Fellowship program includes a trip to Ottawa to attend a national political conference with advanced campaign training exclusively for CJPAC Fellows.

Faith Acts Fellowship:

The Faiths Act Fellowship is a year-long, paid international Fellowship that brings together exceptional future leaders aged 20-27, inspired by faith to serve as interfaith ambassadors for the United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

Faiths Act Fellows build partnerships across faith lines in their home countries to show the world how faith can be a positive global force in the 21st century. Faiths Act Fellows work in local NGOs to mobilize communities to take part in MDG-focused, multi-faith action. Fellows receive a stipend and health benefits throughout the Fellowship year.

The Faiths Act Fellowship is a program of the Tony Blair Faith Foundation in collaboration with Interfaith Youth Core.

Fellows are young leaders chosen from a highly competitive pool of applicants based on their interfaith expertise, experience in global poverty issues, skills, character, and leadership potential. Fellows work in interfaith pairs on specific work plans and assignments outlined by their Host Organization and the Fellowship program. All Fellows attend a month-long training in London at the start of the year and receive ongoing interfaith leadership coaching and support from expert IFYC staff and former Fellows over the course of the year. Fellows will connect to one another as a cohort to share expertise and grow as leaders.

AJC ACCESS – GermanyCloseUp Travel Opportunity

The 10-day program between August 1st and 10th will enable participants to experience Berlin’s multicultural life, visit former East Germany, the Jewish Museum in Berlin, the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe and experience other key historical sites and other cultural venues. Created in cooperation with AJC, the trip will focus primarily on the political situation in Germany today, with special reference to German-Jewish relations and German-US/German-Israel relations.

Established in October 2007, Germany Close Up – American Jews Meet Modern Germany is an initiative, created to enrich transatlantic dialogue and provide Jewish American students and young professionals in their twenties and early thirties with an opportunity to experience modern Germany up close and personally.

Uri L’Tzedek University Fellowship

Uri L’Tzedek is an Orthodox social justice organization guided by Torah values and dedicated to combating suffering and oppression. The University Fellowship provides 10 students with the mentorship and tools to develop a project that creates social change on their campus and brings social justice to the forefront of their community’s consciousness!

AJC Goldman Fellowship

AJC’s Goldman Fellowship Program is designed to develop future leaders in the areas of international and domestic politics, diplomacy, public relations, and management. This competitive Fellowship gives undergraduate and graduate students the unique opportunity to work in offices domestically and throughout the world – from New York City to Melbourne, Australia.

Fellows work closely with supervisors in a mentor relationship with senior AJC personnel to learn about strategy, advocacy, and the development and implementation of programming. Fellows may also spend part of their time developing an independent project with the AJC office to which they are assigned.

Jewish Service Corps – American-Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC)

JDC’s Jewish Service Corps (JSC) offers young Jews the opportunity to directly engage with JDC’s global mission and actively fulfill the value of Jewish responsibility through a year-long, paid, service opportunity connected to JDC’s overseas programs.

JSC fellows are catalysts for change, creating innovative programs that respond to pressing Jewish and humanitarian challenges around the world while exploring Jewish values underlying their service.

JDC offers placements in Israel, the overseas Diaspora Jewish communities, and countries where JDC has non-sectarian projects. Currently, JSC fellows are based in Argentina, India, Turkey, Ukraine, Russia, Germany, Poland, Estonia, Serbia, Israel, and Rwanda.

Application Deadline: Between January 15 and March 15 (for 2011-12).
