CFJS Annual Leadership Retreat

The CFJS Camp Gesher leadership retreat kicked off the 2010-2011 academic year. The annual retreat marks CFJS’ largest conference of the year. The weekend brings together student leaders of local member organizations, including Hillels, JSAs, and IOC presidents and up and coming leaders from across the country. This year, August 26-29, 2010, 60 students joined together to create a national student network. The students participated in a weekend of Israel advocacy training, Jewish learning, relationship building and political engagement education. The participants met with members of the Assembly of First Nations (AFN) and a diversity of speakers from inside and outside the Jewish community. The students participated in an immersive few days, built to equip them with a foundation for the upcoming year. After an inspiring weekend, student leaders returned to their campuses, having built a national network of people and ideas for sharing at the local level.
